As long as we are persistent we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day when we will fully bloom.

Just Get started. If you have practiced yoga for a while, you already know that the hardest part is getting to class, or visit site if you practice at home, unrolling the mat. There are always other things to do – a few more dishes to wash, one more email to read.  Once we take that first step, the rest is actually easy and enjoyable.

The problem is that it is difficult to change even when we know that the payoff may be good.  The comfort of the familiar, even if it is a bad habit that is not serving us, can outweigh the trouble of changing.

How do we overcome the difficulty of change?  Start small.  If we start with easy changes, we are more likely to stick with it over the long term.  We will not have a drastic change – we will not ever become perfect overnight, but if we can be persistent with small changes, we can do almost anything.

I want to hear from you!  What is the hardest part of your practice?  Do you have tips to share about getting started?

Be well,

sig
